Our strategy for expanding impact beyond what any one organization can do on its own

Building Mutually-Beneficial Alliances

We are constantly on the lookout for organizations we can work with to multiply our joint impact. Our experience in the social justice, digital equity, business, and nonprofit sectors lead our strategy in finding aligned partners and establishing relationships that allow us to do more together than either of us could do alone.

It may seem counterintuitive, but some of our grantees are also partners. For example: We might give a digital equity-focused nonprofit organization a grant to conduct research with the intention that the research results be shared across the digital equity ecosystem. In this example, we’re a grantmaker for funding and a partner is disseminating the research.

“Every nonprofit organization hopes to find a funder that is a true partner. 35 Mile Foundation shares their expertise with us, helps us talk through challenges and brainstorms solutions with us. They understand the nuances of barriers to digital equity. They are investing in NDIA's long term success and strengthening the digital equity ecosystem.”
