Working Here

Our team has a long history working at the intersection of social justice, digital equity, technology, business, and innovation. We have taken our experience in social justice and digital equity organizations and applied it to establishing an organization poised to create meaningful impact across the US. Due to our previous digital equity work, we have strong partnerships and relationships that we leverage to grow our impact and lay the groundwork to scale.

We are largely revenue funded. While our goals far surpass what we can accomplish with our base revenue, by combining revenue from our programs and spectrum agreements and investment income, we are able to fund grantmaking operations and take educated risks that other organizations in the space cannot. Our board of directors is willing to fund or support unproven areas, ideas, and organizations that many traditional foundations and nonprofits shy away from.

We embody an All for One and One for All spirit, fostering a collaborative environment where hard work is celebrated, and having fun is encouraged. We believe in sharing praise and embracing accountability, always assuming the best intentions of our colleagues.

We believe that administration is vital to our success when done efficiently. We are dedicated to contributing to the welfare of society and making ethical choices with the resources at hand. By embodying these principles, we create a workplace where positivity, collaboration, and a commitment to societal well-being thrive.

What We Believe

1
Digital equity for overall societal good:We believe that closing the digital divide is beneficial to everyone. Doing so provides a resource necessary to succeed in today’s society. Without it, people struggling today will still be struggling tomorrow and fall further and further behind, creating ever-greater inequities.
2
Digital equity is an important component in creating opportunity for under-resourced people:Internet accessibility is critical for people to compete for jobs, wages, and opportunities in today’s society. In the internet era, there are fewer opportunities without access. We work to close the digital divide by making tools and technology available to people to lift themselves economically and socially.
3
Internet access is crucial to using primarily or exclusively online services:As more and more government and nonprofit services move online, it is increasingly necessary to provide internet access to people in need of these services.
4
Education is vital for students to succeed in school and beyond:The ability to take advantage of the benefits of online education tools helps students in under-resourced classrooms get an education, pursue jobs that help them get ahead, and take advantage of higher education opportunities.
5
Pursuing social justice requires a multi-pronged effort among aligned organizations:While digital equity is at the forefront of our work in pursuing social justice, we understand the importance of funding, and collaboration across the entire spectrum of the social justice movement.
6
Partnerships expand impact:Partnerships allow social justice organizations to accomplish more than they could on their own. Combining forces with other funders has an exponential effect on the change we’re able to create. When digital equity leaders put their collective minds to the challenges we face, it’s more likely that resources can be amplified and strategies can be developed to grow the impact of collaborating organizations.
